Criticism
“Sculpture of talented execution. Only a highly professional artist is capable of empathizing with and completing such a content and aesthetic construct. In a plastic key of evocative classical expressiveness, the author reveals the truthful and inevitable essence of our earthly journey, taking advantage of the mythology of ancient Greece.”
“A poignant work with a refined plastic construction and aesthetic exceptionality. The inspiration comes from the author's culture, and is realized thanks to an impeccable technique that creates a persuasive movement of bodies in the hollow and in the round.”
“The dualism between stasis and movement intervenes in Rami's expressive language, in search of the elusive limit between something that is about to happen or is about to transform. The emblem of the work Eros and Thanatos is strength, tension, the clash of forces, of good and evil, sensations and emotions that find space in the creative momentum of an overflowing vitality.”
“Mirella Luigia Raganato, aka Rami, prefers the use of non-sophisticated materials such as clay in her works. For the artist, in fact, the work of art flourishes, unfolds in the nature that generated it and is nourished by the dynamic forces that it puts into action. His is a return to naturalness as an existential matrix.”
“Those created by Mirella Raganato are paintings born through interior light, substantially moved by the marvelous onset of silence, in whose scenic implications the emotional depth always remains at the pinnacle of the research and of the same poetic objective confirmation following which, Mirella Raganato gives her work of art the call of sincerity in the silent condition of a memory counted over time. The coherent and symbolic message places the cornerstones on the subject's perceptive action in order to better contemplate the infinite existence of the dream in an iconographic arrangement where maturity is always compared with the elegant and symbolic tonal approximations”.
“There is a strong dose of humanity in Mirella Raganato's works. Her technical and creative research leads her to express herself appropriately, capable of evoking feelings and moods that possess her, at the moment in which the creative flair involves and captures her, granting her freedom of expression and the capacity for intuition, absolutely precious qualities for the his artistic research”.
“Mirella Raganato, artistically known as “Rami”, dedicates her works to her own existence, or, maybe, it is the art-work itself that nourishes from her intimate essence. The two options blend and interweave. She relies on colours and paintbrushes to narrate fragments of the world of her loved ones, in whispered and dreamlike atmospheres”.
“A proactive intuition of the unconscious reality and its thoughts revealed by the conjunction of the creative message. His pictorial technique manifests intuition and stylistic communication, revisiting every smallest visual emotion”.
“On the canvas the artist enters a dreamlike dimension that perhaps he would like to bring into reality, with hatchings and shades like butterfly wings, in dreams and signs where these 2 mythical figures are entrusted to Morpheus, who accompanies them in sweet sleep and to let themselves be led where everything is possible, wrapped in soft and delicate clothes in bright and clear colours. It would be wonderful to think that eternity lives here and that there will be no awakenings, because everything would become painful. The chromatisms are a midsummer night's dream of Shakespearean memory”.
“The taste for color and decoration constitute the peculiarity of the aesthetic research of Mirella Raganato, aka Rami. The Salento artist enriches the works with her academic skills, composing the canvases with mythological, symbolist and iconographic references.
Most of his paintings are filled with thoughtful and ethereal women, who are almost lulled by sweet thoughts and loving considerations.
In paintings like "Anima" we can see next to the protagonist, a voluptuous woman with ruby red curls apparently dormant and entwined by brambles, an elegant peacock rising into the sky. This animal is present in particular in Christian symbolism, where it becomes the banner of immortality, therefore the persistence of the soul even after death.
The atmosphere changes, becoming more relaxed in “Soffio”, a sweet and dreamy work, which makes us hope for the arrival of the long-awaited spring.
A new change in theme, also accompanied by a change in technique, is the canvas entitled "My Italy", a theme that could not be more current. But as can be seen from the title, it is the Italy of the painter, determined to immortalize the magical relationship between mother and daughter.
He chooses an unusual format and an equally particular point of view by placing the two figures against a dark green background. The protagonists speak a sweet and complicit language, made of a fruitful silence. Rami transforms himself for his mother and transfers his emotions by dedicating tender poems to her. As in other paintings, the chromatic contrast highlights the emotion that binds them even more, united in the use of a bright red scarf with the same decorations, used as a turban. The one worn by the more mature figure is combined with the milky white t-shirt of the younger protagonist, creating a wonderful color contrast.
Rami is a painter with refined touches of colour, who skilfully links and harmonises various themes and artistic experiences, from sacred icons, through trompe l'oeil to drawing".
“It is an almost musical harmony that emerges from the works of Mirella Raganato, aka Rami, who exhibits in the spaces of Borgo Cardigliano with the exhibition “Sulla Scia dell’Anima”. And it is precisely from the profound intimacies of being that the artist draws her inspiration by making color the means, bright and shining, to express biographical quotations, a suitable expedient to highlight the poetic aspect of her being a "woman". Rami's female figures, in fact, reveal an imaginative abandonment, dreaming of the emotional depth and dreamlike lightness of the artist's artistic sensitivity "brushstrokes/small drops of color/fragments of memory/detach/from my soul/land/dance /in the wake of the soul”.
“Rami is an artist whose paintings draw inspiration from mythology, just look at the subjects represented, such as Prometheus, Apollo and Daphne, Isis, etc. For Rami, the myth embodies reality through a strong presence of meanings linked to the value of
life, essentially a painting that gives an account of an intimate and reflective sensitivity. Painting where it is not difficult to identify a harmonious figure, characterized by colour: a true lifeblood that brings energy to all parts of the painting, introducing the reading of the work and revealing it. In these paintings there is no lack of particular attention to light and motion, to the potential of color itself, to the structure of volumes, to the conquest of new pictorial spaces, elements to which the aesthetic message is entrusted. This is how female figures are born, constructed through thoughtful chromatic taste and elegant graphic signs, essential to instilling the right compositional rhythm that refines their elegance; images full of autobiographical quotes, a suitable expedient to highlight the poetic aspect of her being a woman”.
“He lives in his profound essence in the fullness of feeling, where everything is idyllic, because everything is possible, digging into the depths of the human heart, in search of a mythical luminosity. The artist proposes an adventure towards hidden worlds that ask creativity to be revealed. But she also knows sweetness and wonder, after the effort of creation, because motherhood is a creative act that arouses amazement every time. The aesthetic sense is the foundation of Mirella's art in search of the perfection of colors and hatchings, because she knows that beauty will save us! On the words of Dostojesky".
“The positive influence, the methodology of work in relation to consolidated experience, make the paintings created by the painter Mirella Raganato "Rami", the exciting and attractive meeting of active personal complicity. The usual chromatic contribution rich in tonalisms that meet with scenes of singular bodily clamor, bring to vivid evocation the figuratively responsible hinge, capable of filling the large interior spaces, acute in the conditioned introspection serenely experienced and which, through the silent moment, is conveyed in the wonderful and definitive schematic aspect of the scene. It is a painting created by the talented painter Mirella Raganato, where everything is carefully arranged in order to understand the authenticity of the feelings”.
